Each project will of course vary, you might already have a design in mind, a strict specification or perhaps you're a bit stuck. However most projects tend to follow these key steps:
The first step is to see what others are doing in your niche, who does it well, what not to do and how we can do it better. These are all questions we need to ask as well as talk about demographics and marketing strategies.
The next step of course is to come up with a rough design in the form of a wireframe; which is essentially a blueprint for a website. It tells us what the important sections are on each page such as: content, call to actions, products, categories, navigation, search, etc.
Now we have a blueprint I can start building your website from the inside out. I'll put your website on a development staging server so you can see the progress in real time and discuss if needed. Gradually you will start to see your website coming to life.
Now your website is almost ready, we need to start populating it with all the content, chunks of text, imagery, products, etc. For the more teksavvy types, I will likely have given you a CMS (Content Management System) where you can edit the pages yourself.
Here we will go over any finishing touches as well as test everything on the website on a variety of different devices and browsers. Final amends to the styling of your website will be made and once both of us are 100% happy we will set a launch date.
Your website is now live! Analytical tools will be installed on your website and from there we can monitor it's performance.
Bugs nearly always crop up after a website launch, so if we find any i'll fix them for you. Any final changes which I deem to be a quick fix i'll do for no further cost up to 2 months after launch.
